Computer control of roll forming mill to produce custom roll formed shapes

Sharon Custom Metal Forming’s new 100,000 sq. ft. facility is located in Farrell, Pennsylvania. This western Pennsylvania area has been associated with metal forming and production for over 100 years. The facility is conveniently located next to the interstate highway network where we are only hours away from many key American industrial centers.

Roll Forming Manufacturing Capabilities

Sharon Custom Metal Forming has a variety of diverse custom roll form and welded shape roll forming lines in order to provide customers a “one stop shop” for all of their roll forming needs.

Roll Forming

Our core focus is roll forming. We have over 350 years of combined roll forming experience between our operators and design and engineering teams. We have been involved with designing and producing countless different roll formed shapes for applications in every metal utilizing industry.

In-Line Punching and Notching

We are experts with in-line punching and notching the steel prior to forming up the shape. This process allows for us to create simple, complex, and complicated tight tolerance parts to meet your requirements.

Welded Shapes

SCMF offers continuous seam welding of roll formed profiles. The combination of custom roll forming and electric resistance welding produce shapes with tight tolerances that also provide structural integrity.

Custom Tubing Technologies

We produce a variety of custom tubing that utilize lock seams, open seams, and butted seams.

Metal Cladding

We clad materials such as vinyl, non-ferrous metals and stainless steel to a carbon steel base to provide an optimum combination of properties, appearance, and cost.

Standard Roll Formed Shapes

SCMF has an extensive tooling inventory meaning that we can quickly and economically offer customers many standard shapes including angles and channels.

Secondary Operations

SCMF provides a number of value added secondary operations such as:

  • Robotic welding
  • Component assembly
  • Post punching
  • Bending
  • Stamping
  • Drilling
  • Powder Coating and E-Coating services

Roll Forming Metals

There is a wide choice of metals and finishes that can be roll formed. Various metal thicknesses, widths, lengths, strengths, surface appearances, and types of corrosion resistance are available to meet the specific application needs of a roll formed shape.

SCMF has the manufacturing diversity to roll form metals from:

  • Thickness: .005" throught .375"
  • Strip Width: .5" through 40"
  • Length: 60' (limited only by transportation restrictions)

Uncoated Steels used in roll forming and welded shapes:

  • Carbon
  • Stainless steels
  • High-strength-low-alloy

Coated Steels used in roll forming:

  • Galvanized steel
  • Pre-coated materials such as painted carbon steel

Non-Ferrous metals:

  • Aluminum including anodized aluminum
  • Brass
  • Bronze
  • Copper
